The units are designed to be mounted on the box body nose or a niche. Uno features an innovative direct coupling design between the engine and the compressor, and utilises Daikin’s expertise in design for reliability and performance. Available in multi temperature zone configuration.

Uno undermount refrigeration units are independently powered with a diesel engine and are available in various capacities to efficiently transport temperature-sensitive products in heavy trucks and trailers. The units are designed to be mounted under the box body. Like nose mounted Uno, the under-mount features an innovative direct coupling design between the engine and the compressor, and utilises Daikin’s expertise in design for reliability and performance. Available in multi temperature zone configuration.

The unique direct coupling system
UNO units are equipped with YANMAR diesel engines, known for their reliability and fuel efficiency. The refrigeration units feature a direct coupling system, where the diesel engine is mechanically linked to the refrigeration compressor via a flexible coupling. This design eliminates the need for complex belt systems or generators, resulting in higher efficiency, reduced maintenance, and improved reliability. The direct transmission ensures immediate power transfer, enabling stable refrigeration performance even during engine idle or low-speed operation. This makes UNO units particularly well-suited for demanding refrigerated transport applications, both urban and long-haul.

The double compressor solution
When equipped with a standby option, the units are equipped with a double compressor system, offering a smart combination of performance and built-in redundancy. One compressor is driven by the diesel engine, while the second operates when the unit is plugged into the electric standby. This means that if the engine-driven compressor fails or the engine is off, the refrigeration system can still run reliably on electric power. The dual-compressor design not only ensures uninterrupted cooling but also reduces wear and extends the service life of each compressor, as they operate independently depending on the power source. It's a practical and robust solution for temperature-sensitive transport.
